The International Planned Parenthood Federation - East & South East Asia and Oceania Region (IPPF ESEAOR) is one of the six regional structures of IPPF, a leading NGO in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) globally. IPPF ESEAOR, located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, serves as the secretariat for 23 Member Associations (MAs) and two (2) collaborative partners. IPPF ESEAOR is responsible for supporting MAs in the areas of strategic planning, programme development and operations, monitoring and evaluation, resource mobilisation, financial accountability, volunteer development, capacity building, knowledge management, quality of care and management information systems. IPPF ESEAOR also facilitates partnerships between its MAs and government agencies, non-governmental organisations, civil society, and UN agencies in the field of SRHR within and across the region.

About the Internship

IPPF ESEAOR offers short-term, full-time internships. Interns shall work with the Strategic Partnerships, Advocacy and External Affairs (SPAEA) team on a variety of projects for up to six (6) months. Our interns are provided with a monthly allowance. As an intern, you will have a supervisor for support and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

Interns will be responsible for assisting our Senior Officers with

  • Planning, designing and executing projects as well as liaising with multiple stakeholders
  • Supporting IPPF ESEAOR campaigns and online events including the preparation of documentation and invitation packages.
  • Covering field activities, and producing quality advocacy/communication materials (articles, social media posts, photos, etc) for dissemination.

Interns are also encouraged to come up with a personal project during their internship.

  • Location: Remote (if based in the Klang Valley, we may request you to come into the office from time-to-time)
  • Duration: 3 - 6 months

What are we looking for?

  • You have a real interest in sexual and reproductive rights and gender equality, and in IPPF’s mission lead a locally owned, globally connected civil society movement that provides and enables services and champions sexual and reproductive health and rights for all, especially the under-served in East Asia, South East Asia and the Pacific.
  • Proactive and know how to combine creativity and efficiency.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Good computer literacy in standard word processing and spreadsheets software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel or similar.
  • Good knowledge of social networks and their management (knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Canva software is a plus).
  • Able to work independently while being open to learning and growth
