IPPF ESEAOR is seeking to establish a pool of experienced communications consultants to provide high-quality communications support, strengthen MA capacity in developing communications materials and content, and build an asset bank for external communications purposes.
The consultants will be focused on IPPF’s RESPOND Phase II programme, funded by the Australian Government, and another smaller programme funded by a leading US-based foundation. The following are the priority countries, but may include others: Afghanistan, Laos, the Philippines, Vietnam, the Maldives, Indonesia, and Nepal.
Consultants are welcome to apply for specific components of the TOR and are not expected to cover the full scope of work. Proposals focused on support in a single country are encouraged.
Components:
1. Restricted Programmes Communications Support
Support the development and implementation of programme communications plans, produce and edit communication materials, develop social media content, strengthen knowledge management systems, and contribute to donor and advocacy messaging.
2. Content Collection and Documentation
Collect and document programme stories through interviews and field visits; develop human-interest stories and case studies; and ensure all content adheres to ethical storytelling, safeguarding, and informed consent standards.
3. Visual Asset Production
Support the production of high-quality and ethical visual content by guiding local teams and photographers, and organise visual assets, captions, consent records, and metadata.
4. Communications Capacity Strengthening
Design and deliver practical communications training for staff on storytelling, content creation, branding, ethical communications, and photography, including the development of simple templates and tools for ongoing use.
Qualifications - Essential:
- Demonstrated experience working in communications within a large internal NGO or in the development sector
- Fluency in written and spoken English - excellent writing and editing skills with ability to adapt style for different audiences.
- Experience with social media content creation and trends.
- Commitment to ethical, inclusive, feminist, and rights-based storytelling.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to deliver to tight deadlines.
- Alignment with IPPF values, vision and mission including pro-choice and inclusivity of marginalised groups.
- Understanding of and a commitment to safeguarding, including child protection.
Location: Remote-based, with a preference for being based in the ESEAOR region
